Parental Involvement

The parish religious education program is meant to support the parents in their responsibility as the first educators of the Faith. Family involvement and commitment to the live of the parish are critically important for those who participate in religious education program.

Parents will assist in the faith growth and development of their children by encouraging regular class attendance, weekly and holy Mass attendance and family prayer.

Participation in Christina service actives as a family will help develop and reinforce an attitude of giving, caring, and sharing for others. Parents are encouraged and, in some cases, required to:

  • Participate as a volunteer catechist, aide, or substitute.

  • Meet your child's teacher.

  • Help your child with assigned homework projects.

  • Attend gatherings or special events connected with the program (required for sacramental preparation.)

  • Contact the religious education office when your child will be absent.

  • Be hall monitor (required for grades four to high school). All families will receive a schedule with expectations and guidelines.
